Most glaciers worldwide are retreating due to global climate change.  The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only ones in the world that is still advancing and in equilibrium.  We had to see it and after leaving Torres Del Paine in Chile, he took a bus to El Calafate, Argentina.  El Calafate is a touristy town that relies exclusively upon the Perito Moreno Glacier for its economy.  A little town with restaurants, museums, and shopping, we stayed at Hostel Las Manos, which proved affordable for the Patagonia.

The Perito Moreno Glacier in the Argentinian Patagonia is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. One of the only advancing glaciers in the world, this place is special in many ways. From the thundering cleaving of the glaciers into the fjord to the beauty of the creamy glacial waters backdropped by mountains, Perito Moreno Glacier is a must-see in southern Argentina before it is gone to the global climate change machine.
