Most glaciers worldwide are retreating due to global climate change.  The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only ones in the world that is still advancing and in equilibrium.  We had to see it and after leaving Torres Del Paine in Chile, he took a bus to El Calafate, Argentina.  El Calafate is a touristy town that relies exclusively upon the Perito Moreno Glacier for its economy.  A little town with restaurants, museums, and shopping, we stayed at Hostel Las Manos, which proved affordable for the Patagonia.
